Raised by Richard Fenicchia by crossing 'Rochester' with 'Mme. Charles Souchet' with name being registered in 1995; first flowering reported to be in 1976.

Flowers are fragrant single purple, cupped, 25 mm across developing from reddish-purple buds.

Reported to be smaller than typical of the species, it is expected to grow into a shrub 2 x 2m.
