Syringa (Villosae Group) Telimena

Syn. S. prestoniae 'Telimena', 'Telemena'

Raised by Wladyslaw Bugala in Poland, this is believed to be a second generation x prestoniae hybrid with the cultivar name being registered in 1970.

'Telimena' is a disease resistant, non-suckering shrub that may be grown in tree form with multiple trunks. Young plants make vigorous growth hence may be slow to come into full flowering. Mature size may be in excess of 4 m.

Flowers are late season single pink, fragrance not being overwhelming. Fiala rates this cultivar as 'very fine to excellent' in his book.
